We have been so busy at the shop it is hard to find time to write.

We re sampling our garlic cheese ball and slice and bake cheese wafers today. YUM!!!!! That is why I have to work out. So I can practice quality control. Somebody had to do it.

One of our customers are using the garlic cheese balls for christmas gifts this year. Of course I thought it was a great idea. Last year we gave out some appetizer packages. (i.e. bacon tomato dip and boursin cheese with crackers and wine)
They were very well recieved. Of course during the holidays everyone needs appetizers for those unexpected drop ins.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Going to Atlanta today to see my mom. Hoping to squeeze in a game of golf this weekend.

Go Gators!!!!!!!!!! you know how hard that is for me since we are Vols fans.

Monday

Wow, Monday after Thanksgiving, tough to get back into the swing of things.
I have forgotten to mention that a friend of mine has started a new business adventure and owning your own business is an adventure. Amanda who owns and operates Style and Company in the Kroger shopping center on Zebulon Road has taken over what used to be Madwhacker. Best of luck to her and they have some fabulous stylists (Lisa Watson is who I use) so call ahead to make your appointments and as always we want to support small business in the middle Georgia area.

Please keep us in mind during the month of December for your appetizer and dessert needs. Just call ahead and we can have what you need for your next party or event.

Day after Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. Thank you all who supported The Casserole Shop for your holiday needs. We really appreciate it.

Chris and I are visiting some family for the holiday weekend. Looking forward to getting back and doing a ton of baking for December absolutely one of my most favorite things to do.

Dont'f forget if you need a caramel or chocolate (yellow cake w/choc frosting) cake give us a call. The fresh apple cake was a huge hit for thanksgiving gift giving. I think it would make an amazing Christmas gift.

I specify about the chocolate cake becasue the first year we did the layer cakes someone ordered a chocolate cake and I made a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and the customer returned very upset. They stated they ordered a "chocolate cake", it was then I learned just what a chocolate cake is.

Saturday before thanksgiving

A little chilly this morning. Might have to be a late golf day. We are golfing with Gwen and Rusty today. Had a slight mishap at the house the other night, some of you will appreciate this more than others because of what I do for a living. I was making Chris a tuna melt for dinner and created just a small amount of smoke. Our smoke detector is connected to our fire alarm which alerts the fire dept. automatically if there is a problem. We canceled the call when the smoke detector went off and thought all was fine. 3 minutes later the fire dept. arrived at our home. Really great to know how prompt the fire department is in case of emergency. Not so great telling people the reason they were there was because I burnt dinner!!!!!! The good news is I will
not be preparing Thanksgiving dinner at home.

Sunday evening

Another weekend zoomed past and Chris and I are mourning Sunday evening. There is just not enough time squeezed into these two days. He had a great day playing with Jimmy today even though Jimmy was not happy with him, he did enjoy the fellowship as always. This will be a fast and furious week we hope for the Casserole Shop and Walsh Honda. Zeus is ready for a fun filled night since we have left him for the whole day by himself. Getting ready to watch Jimmy Johnson clinch the championship for the Nextel Cup.

another fabulous day

A little cool but none the less a fabulous day on the golf course. I had to think a minute and then when I looked down at my shirt I could identify at least 8 things off the top of my head that I had prepared today.
Of course I was soaking wet because while doing dishes I sprayed the water nozzle directly into a scoop which anyone who does dishes knows that this is a strategic placement of water for a quick bath. It is times like this that I realize how great I have it. So tonight when I am washing the caramel frosting out of my hair, cleaning the spaghetti sauce off of my shoes and putting my feet up after a hard day I am living my dream!!!!!!!!!!!! After seeing the news the past couple of days it makes the holidays seem so unimportant and rough times ahead for those who will be unemployed through the auto industries and others like them by Christmas. This season may actually bring out what is really important to us all this time of year. Most of you are probably headed to Christmas in the South. Great place to do some Christmas shopping. For those of you up north Christmas in the South is a huge event where folks come from all over the south to display thier beautiful crafts and or items from their shops. It is a great event.

The Casserole Shop is also a great place to do your Christmas shopping. From gift cards to home made bakery products or the gift of a meal.

Our pound cakes are perfect for shipping they are very durable. Chris and I shipped them in our early years of catering. They were very well recieved. I remember in 1995 we shipped over 100 pound cakes from a customer in Atlanta to Wall Street. New Yorks introduction to Dooga and the Duchess was very a huge hit. We also shipped to the White house that same year. Our most famous person we shipped to was Naomi Judd. (for those of you who don't know here she used to sing with her daughter Wynona...The Judds) She sent a note of thanks to the customer who sent it, we tried to get it for our scrapbook but he kept it for his!!! While we no longer ship the cakes you can package them or take them to one of the mailbox places and they do a great job.

Now those of you not from here know what to ask your friends from Macon to get you for the Holidays!!!!!!! Instead of money just send a poundcake!!!!!!!!!!!

FIGURING IT OUT

OK, SO I AM NEW TO THE BLOGGING THING. I have used many recipes people have given me over the years. Mexican Chicken was the last dish shared with me from my friend Elaine. I added it to our menu and it has become one of our most popular meals. It has the yellow spanish rice, with black beans and chicken in a mild spiced cheese sauce. Some customers have said they will fill a flour tortillia with the mixture others have served it with tortillia chips. I welcome any ideas or recipes you might have.

Welcome from Allison

Hello everyone,

We have added the blog in an effort to get out some immediate info on the casserole shop and our menu.
